Transportation-eligible families were asked to register for bus service for the 2024-2025 school year. Registration is now closed, and 79% of eligible families responded, with 97% of those who responded opting in to receive bus service. To streamline bus route planning, the Office of Student Transportation assumes eligible students whose parents/guardians did not register them will require bus service and will include them accordingly.
Bus Transportation Registration Scenarios
When registering, parents/guardians may encounter one of the following scenarios:
If you are in a non-transportation area (walk area), you will see a message reflecting that your student is ineligible for transportation. Please refer to the updated non-transportation (walk area) map for your student’s school under “View School Details” on the School Directory page. If you have a safety concern within the non-transportation area, please contact the Office of Student Transportation.
If you have multiple students who attend HCPSS schools, please be sure to make a selection for each student using the dropdown labeled “Select Student.” Please note that your student(s) may be eligible for transportation differently depending on the distance from your home to each school.
If you have a currently enrolled student(s) and a newly enrolled student (pre-K, kindergarten, or any student in any grade new to HCPSS), you will only see the option to make a selection for your currently enrolled student(s). If you did not make a transportation request when you registered the new student(s), please contact the front office at 410-313-6859.
If you only have a newly enrolled student(s) in HCPSS for the 2024-2025 school year (pre-K, kindergarten, or any student new to HCPSS) and you did not make a transportation request when you registered the new student(s), please contact the front office at 410-313-6859.
If you have a senior student, you do not need to take any action.
